Best Places to Live If You Want to Test Games
Now there are gaming companies in just about every state in the US and of course internationally. But obviously there are a few states that have greater concentrations of companies than other.
So what exactly are the best places in the country to live if you want to work for a gaming company? There are quite a few.
Let’s start with the East Coast. Obviously many gamers know there are a ton of companies on the East Coast.
Massachusetts is a hot gaming mecca right now. There are over 35 game developers & publishers in that area. Definitely a great choice.
New York & New Jersey are two other really hot choices. In terms of living who wouldn’t want to live in NYC? There are over 40 game developers and publishers in the Tri State area. NY is an amazing place to live if you love the fast paced lifestyle and it’s great for the younger up and coming gamers.
Maryland is another ever growing city full of publishers and developers. There are currently over 20 amazing companies in the Maryland/DC area always looking for new up and coming gamers.
Well then you’ve got the West Coast and as many of us know that is definitely a hot spot for gaming companies.
You’ve got approximately 200+ gaming companies located throughout California in cities such as San Francisco, San Diego, & LA. Then you’ve got about another 100+ between Washington and Vegas.
Bottom line is this. Yes there are some states where it pays to be a gamer. BUT there are game companies in just about every state you can possibly imagine. You name a state, I’ll find you at least one company located there.
