New York Game Testing Options

Obviously you’re going to find a lot of developers/publishers on both the East and West Coast.

If you live in New York and are looking for a game job, the options are truly endless.

I know of over 15 developers and over 10 publishers in the New York area.  That doesn’t include the smaller guys like the cell phone game developers.

This is just a small taste of the companies you have to choose from.  I will list 4 developers and 4 publishers and tell you a little bit about them.

Developers

1. Area/Code
Headquartered in Manhattan, this company was founded back in 2005.  Some of their clients include Nike, CBS, MTV, and Nokia.

2. Collision Studios
With a location in New York City, they develop games for the PS3 and XBox 360 (just to name a few of the platforms).  Their company was also founded in 2005.  Their employees come from major firms such as EA, and THQ (just to name a few).

3. Rockstar NYC
What gamer is not familiar with Rockstar.  They have a location in NYC as well.  Established back in 1998, Rockstar is famous for games such as GTA IV.

4. Vicarious Visions
Based out of Albany NY, Vicarious Visions was incorporated back in 1994 and is well know for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series.

Publishers

1. Atari
Ok again, what gamer is not familiar with the name Atari?  Well believe it or not they have an office in New York as well.  They have been around since the early 70’s.  Talk about stability?  You’ll get that with Atari.

3. Large Animal Games
Based out of Manhattan, Large Animal Games claims to be the best place on the internet to play free online games.  Founded in 2001 they are in the midst of releasing their 60th game.

4. Take 2 Interactive
Take 2 is a part of a much bigger picture which includes Rockstar and 2K Games.  They have an office located in New York City.  This is an amazing company to get involved with simply due to the sheer amount of individuals already employed by them.
